What is Mad Audit Tools?

Mad Audit Tools is a COM Add-in for MS Excel and MS Outlook. I started development when I worked at Deloitte thus almost all of add-in’s features are designed to simplify data manipulations in Excel, improve communication of corporate SW (Audit System/2) and corporate resources with Office applications.

The main idea was to allow user to assign shortcuts to iterative actions. From the very beginning MAT was just a collection of “macros” for data formatting with a possibility to assign shortcuts for them. Quality and quantity of “macros” continuously expanded, now list consists of about 30 “macro”. Except well-known it includes “macros” for more effective communication of Excel and Audit System/2, better navigation through workbooks, comments etc.

Why “Mad Audit Tools”?

It is hard to imagine how much time average auditor spends on data transformation and formatting using only Excel features. Unreasonable, non-effective time spending was driving me mad. Well, that is why :).

What’s new?

Version 1.02.002 of Mad Audit Tools became a last one due to the fact that I don’t work at Deloitte anymore and it is hard to support product and test its new features. I’m much appreciated for those of you who took part in testing and for those of you who supported and inspired me during my work on this project. Thank you!

    Is there a way to restore back all the shortcut keys for the original A/S 2? Or is there a way to uninstall your tool?

    i like the fact that the text-reference respond a lot faster though but overall i find it is not that helpful. No offense…

    Hi there!
    You can edit any shortcut just
    - go to MAT Options
    - select Advanced Shortcuts tab
    - in the list on the left select macro for which you would like to change key sequence
    - then click on the button with shortcut displayed
    - change key sequence or click Delete button to delete it.
    - Then Ok, Ok.

    To disable MAT at all go to COM-Addins menu and uncheck check-box near the MAT and press Ok.

    Nice addin! I’m a D&T alum as well (Vegas office 1999-2002)….just curious if D&T still uses AS/2. I’ve heard that they don’t. Do you know if there’s anywhere one could download a copy of AS/2?!?!! I’m still in contact with many friends that are ex-D&T…..I was asking an ex-Senior Manager of mine if I could purchase the AS/2 Internal Audit version that we used to try and sell (never successfully) tour our IA clients. He told me they don’t use AS/2 anymore and the IA version was horrible anyway….but I’d really love to use the full version if it exists out there anywhere….let me know if you know anything…borninlv@gmail.com
